Library
The college library was started with the establishment of college in the year 1985. Right from its inception, it has become the ‘heart’ of the college. It functions as a subsystem of the college and supports imparting of higher education at the U.G., P.G. and research levels. Library is a hub of knowledge for students, teachers, researchers and external members. Today, the library has a collection of more than twenty-seven thousand books. Library automation is under process using e-Granthalaya Software. Wide range audio visual aids and e-resources are available in the library. The library has implemented many innovative and best practices for the benefits of the stakeholders, such as arrangement of book exhibition, poster presentation, lectures, granth dindi, seminar, conference, workshop etc. There is area of 2768 sq. ft. with well stocked library hall, separate reading room facility for students and faculty members, internet facility for students and faculty, circulation counter, librarian cabin, reference section, periodical section, valuable U.G.C. books and senior, junior, vocational books display for new arrivals. A library is a collection of information and resources which are accessible to the defined community for borrowing.

- The College has a well-equipped library with a total area of 2,768 sq. ft.
- Library offers a wide range of reading materials including books, bound journals, non-print media, CDs, e-books, and e-journals.
- A total of 30,688 printed books are available, including the UG Section 24,333, PG Section 375, Junior Section 4,078, Vocational Section 1,890, and rare books (12), 22 journals, magazines, 12 newspapers and 151 CDs and DVDs are available in the library
- The total number of titles available in the library is 14,138.
- Joined N-LIST, NDL and NDLI Club.
- Signed MoU with Shivaji University College Librarian Association, Kolhapur.
- Working hours of reading room are extended during examination times.
- All readers have access to the LAN-OPAC.
- A reading room in the library accommodates 108 students.
- Library is partially automated through ILMS, i. e. e-Granthalaya software version 3.0 (eG3 Rev. No. 31) developed by NIC, MoEIT, GoI.
- The library has a user tracking system installed by Softest Solution and Services, Pune.
- A barcode card is supplied to the authorized user.
- A blog for the library has been set up at www.bvdpkmnews.in. It is used to communicate trustworthy information about everyday activities.

Library is a nucleus of teaching, learning and research process. It has been playing a vital role in overall development of the college.
Aims
- To develop collection of reading material useful for various courses.
- To provide various library services and facilities to the readers.
- To support research activity for its progress and qualitative development.
- To preserve and conserve the collection of reading material in the library.
Objectives
- To acquire, organize and update library collection to support teaching – learning process.
- To encourage the students to read beyond the requirement of the curriculum.
- To provide assistance to users for effective use of learning resources.
- To promote the learning habits among students.
- To motivate students for extensive use of reading material.
- To provide information to every reader.

The Library Advisory Committee reviews the requirements of the users such as students and teachers and gives proper suggestions to run the library smoothly. The main intention of the committee is to decide and adopt policies for the betterment library services and effective functioning of it.

Digital Library
Digital Library
A digital library is a collection of documents in organized electronic form, available on the internet or on CD-ROM disks. It is a type of information retrieval system. A digital library, also called an online library, an internet library, a digital repository, or a digital collection is an online database of digital objects that can include text, still images, audio, video, digital documents, or other digital media formats or a library accessible through the internet. Depending on the specific library, a user may be able to access magazine articles, books, papers, images, sound files, and videos.
With the advance in digital technology, more and more people are choosing e-books and audiobooks over printed books. Amazon alone offers millions of e-books in every category. Digital library is a place that provides required information.

- UGC – INFLIBNET N-LIST project provides access to e-resources to students, researchers and faculty from the college. The authorized users from colleges can now access e-resources and download. The N-LIST user can access 6000+ e-journals and 01,99,000+ e-books as well as library provides helpful web link and free e-resources in PDF format. http://nlist.inflibnet.ac.in
- MHRD under its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology has initiated the NDLI pilot project to develop a framework of virtual repository of learning resources with a single-window search facility. http://ndl.iitkgpa.c.in
