About Us

Department of Physical Education and Sports was established in 1985 at Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Dr. Patangrao Kadam Mahavidyalaya, Sangli. It is one of the leading departments in the college.

The teacher is well qualified with M. PEd., SET and Ph.D. (Perusing). All teachers are actively involved in the research work of various areas like organizing various game sports camp, organizing sports activities for students and teachers, organizing prize distribution ceremony and also help to maintain discipline in our college.

The main objective of the department is to motivate the students to learn fundamental of Physical Education and Sports for better Physical fitness and mental health of our students for better and healthy life. Therefore they can contribute in sustainable development of the society.

The department provides Sports environment, basic indoor and outdoor sports infrastructure and facilities for cultivation the hidden talents of the students as well as faculty. Besides this, students are also encouraged to participate in Sangli Zonal sports Tournaments, Shivaji University Inter Zonal tournament, All India Inter University Tournaments, Krida Mohotsav, State tournaments, National tournaments and international tournaments. Our college also produced more than five “Shiv Chatrapati Award Winners” players, which is the highest award of sports In Maharashtra state.

The department is devoted to inspire the students to become a skilled sportsman, honest human being, competitive person with sports spirit and more important a well and healthy human being.
